Here's where it starts getting tricky. Life gets tougher. Everything is wonderful, but things become harder. Shells for protection, skeletons for support and cutters grow for feeding. Evolution in it's purest form.

Animals start to look tougher and defence systems evolve - jellyfish-like creatures form and have stinger tails, an evolutionary crab has claws on it. All modern animal life has a common ancestor from this period (Cambrian era).

It is one of the most abundant times in the history of the Earth's life, and just goes to show that our planet is capable of housing many lifeforms at once. Everything we know of this era is situated in the sea still, and there is no land animal or creatures, and there are still no plants.
