Radioactivity

The original radioactivity symbol used from it's inception in 1946.

Radioactivity has been used for medication, in industry and also to power our homes (in the form of nuclear power). The original symbol used for radioactive materials was the one shown above. This was first doodled by a group led by Nels Garden when they started to work and the need for a symbol to represent it came forward.
